Postcards from the Planet...
Greetings from Planet Phantom!
This is the strangest place I have ever been to!!! The land is dusty with an awesome view of the golden mountains. My alien friends are very nice, but they say it’s called Planet Phantom because of the Silver Yeti that lives in the dark caves of Walasala! SCARY!!!! The food and drinks are stunning. My favourite meal is Tiger's Tail with Beetle Juice Sauce. Everyone is acting like its summer but it’s snowing, strange. Don’t worry though I’m warm by doing my gross-ary shopping. Yesterday I even went in the gold streams by snorkeling through the gold crystal caves! So fun!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish you were here!
See you soon, Gloria
Greetings from Planet Slick!
This Planet is probably the strangest and prettiest places I’ve ever been. The zoffle trees are a main thing in this landscape. The ground is covered in silver moss and in the distance there are crystal mountains which are sharp and smooth. I know this because I found some time to do some mountain climbing. The local “creatures” gave me some of their finest delicacies like the tail of the choo choo chicken and the ear of the weeping wombat. However none of those foods came to my liking. Fortunately the weather has been great as there are usually dust storms. We also went hoverboarding and dust skiing!
Wish you were here, Daisy

Making Oobleck
This morning room nine went out on the field in groups to make oobleck. Oobleck is gooey and messy and looks like milk. You get water and corn flour, two cups,a spoon and a bowl.First you put the water in one of the cups and then poor it in the bowl. Then get the corn flour in the other cup and poor it in the bowl. After start mixing it slowly with the spoon. Then start building up speed as you go.Poor in more corn flour if the texture is very sloppy. Keep mixing till the oobleck is not lumpy. The oobleck fells like a liquid When you put your hand in slowly. But when you put your hand in fast it fells solid. Oobleck is fun to make it fell like a really cool activity to experiment with.

Futuristic cities
Room 9 have been working on futuristic cities for the past two weeks. Our work had to have lots of weird shaped buildings. My work has a LOT of
detail. We used bright felts to partly colour our city. First we drew random
buildings of what we thought what the future may look like. Next we drew lots of
detail on our buildings and in the sky (if you think there will be a sky). After
that we drew over our pencil with vivid if the vivid was to thick to go over the little details we used Stabilo pen. Lastly we partly coloured our cities with bright felts. Here are some that are finished.

Maps
First we got a piece or paper with 10 coordinates on it,then we draw a shape that filled the whole page .Then we coloured it. We had to write some coordinates of our own things.
shape art
We got given a piece of A3 paper to draw on.We got to choose our own theme .Then you had to do part of the body as a shape .Then find a description about the shapes and what they are.

balloon jet cars
Balloon Jet Cars
Resources:
· skewers
· straws
· scissors
· tape
· hot glue gun
· drill
· cardboard
· ruler
· bottle caps
· balloon
· pencil
rubber
Method:
1. Construct a 3D shape using cardboard.
This will be the body of your car.
2. Next you tape two straws to the bottom of the
car. That are about 3mm wider than the car.
3. After that you poke a skewer through the
straws. The skewers need to be longer then the straws so you can fit the wheels
on.
4. Push wheels on the end of the skewers and
attach with a hot glue gun.
5. Attach a small bit of the straw to
the top of the car. Next you attach a balloon to the straw.
6. Check there are no holes in the straw by
blowing the balloon up and hold it by the end of the balloon so no air comes
out if it comes out of the straw put on another layer of tape.
7. Now you are for the race course!

Sun Art
First we drew the sun on a piece of card, then we drew the rays on the outside of the same piece of card. Following this we cut out the detail and stuck the sun on another piece of card. Then we painted them with a roller and pressed the stencil on to a piece of paper.

Geometry Art
First we drew three or four random straight lines. Next we used our compass to draw lots of assorted sized circles. When colouring, every line we went over we had to change the colour we were using.

Persuasive Writing: Cats Vs. Dogs
Dogs Make Better Pets than CatsBy Ariana and Kate
My first reason is cats kill nature and kill native
animals, dogs are better around native animals and cats just have the urge to
kill them.
A further reason is dogs are easier to train than cats. This
way it is safer around babies than cats.
In addition dogs are like a cheaper security alarm but
cats don’t do anything. Dogs make you feel safer and cats just sleep and eat.
Therefore, although some people argue cats are better
than dogs, I think I have shown that dogs are better than cats.
Dogs Make Better Pets than CatsBy Jayde and Willow
My first reason is that dogs play with you and cats don’t.
Dogs swim at the beach with you, cats don’t.
A further reason is a dog can save your life by attacking
the other person. A cat can’t save your life. A dog can help blind people cross
the road, so blind people don’t get run over. Also a dog barks when there’s a
robber so they can’t rob your house.
In addition cats kill birds and mice, dogs don’t. you can
train dogs to do tricks but not with cats. You can always train dogs to sniff
our drugs.
Therefore, although some people argue that cats are
better than dogs, I think that I have proved that dogs are better than cats.
Cats Make Better Pets Than Dogs.By Daisy D and Gloria
Although not everybody would agree, I want to argue that
cats are better than dogs. I have several reasons for arguing for this point of
view.
My first reason is that you can let cats roam free, while
you have to take dogs for a walk every day. Also dogs pooh everywhere and you
have to pick it up. Cats cover their waste.
A further reason is that casts are a lot less noisy than
dogs. Dogs bark frantically while cats are lying down and purring softly. Then also
you can get a good night’s sleep.
In addition I think dogs are more expensive compared to
cats. For example you have to pay for a collar, a leash and registrations. You also
have to buy more food for dogs!
Therefore, although some people argue that dogs are better
than cats.
I think I have shown that cats are a better pet than dogs!
